Hello
I usually post on Xanga but it has been really quiet over the past month or so... not many people read it anymore. So I thought I would come here. Anyway this is my first post here and I really can’t find anything to say...
One thing I can say [will say] is that I am very disappointed that I rode my bike all the way up from my house to scc to get a bus pass to find out that they have none! :O So now, tomorrow I will have to ride my bike all the way down to my doctor’s to get one, and ride all the way back which will be about 18 miles in total... yes It is fun but not THAT fun. *sighs* oh well, we will just have to see what happens.
Late night phone calls and metaphorical chickens

Hi again, I am not sure if more than one person will end up reading this but, oh well! Anyway It has been really fun staying up at all hours of the night talking on the phone.
Well I posted it somewhere else so I will post it again for the benefit of those who do not read the website that it was previously posted on, just a thought on counting chickens before they hatch
I have been talking to a good friend, and was reminded how we should not count our chickens before they hatch. Though it is fun to imagine and ponder what those little chicks will be like and when they will come.
But for now I need to remember that they are still just little eggs.
Of course I am not talking about real chickens, just things that may or may not happen in life, and well one thing can not happen before certain other things... and even though it is nice to dream of them and think of how you would handle certain things or how you would like things to turn out, you still cant really do anything about it really, because what is in front of you still needs attending.
I guess that is what I have been pondering today.

I don’t usually write poetry, but today I wrote a poem to go with the story I am writing and it will be a clue to the mystery.
[Note added on 12/05/10 I am not actually using this poem, at least not in the way I originally thought. I have a writer friend who liked it, and he may be using it.]
At night shall the warbling bird flee the fore,
To find those who were lost,
but still loved.
To find hope and peace at the golden spring,
and to see flowers under stone,
For those who seek me
Fear not
For on some distant summer’s eve,
ye shall see the warbling bird return.
Also, Today the Latvian ambassador was in town... I didn’t see them but it was still cool that they were here!
A busy day in Nebraska

Whew, it has been a busy day so far... no wonder I feel like I never get a day off, I am using my days of from work to well work!
Today I attempted to accomplish some things; I don’t know that I did more than spend money and walk A LOT.
First I had to run down to my doctor’s to talk about medication and such, and renew prescriptions and whatever... but first I “wandered” into the goodwill and couldn’t find anything worth getting, then I “wandered” into Open Harvest and found lots of things worth getting, like red bananas! They are so good! Peter, wouldn’t you like to come here and have some?
Then I went home for like five minutes, then went to where I had my bike locked and got it, went to the used bookstore where I purchased the books I told them to save for me and of course I had to get more! whee
Then I went back home for the second time, for like an hour, got my dirty laundry, the literal-dirty cloths kind... and then wait an hour for the bus, then make it up here to do the laundry, and go to the used bike shop to buy a new helmet! And some other little things
Now I am here typing and next will be some fun at an event downtown! Whew. [at a friend's house]
Tomorrow it is back to work, then Sunday is church... a man may work from dusk till dawn but a woman’s work is never done... pleas excuse the typos... don’t like the spell check thingy and we have to leave.... also I did not do all the things I wish I did but there is always next time. [I fixed most of the typos to post on here]
I would help but I am busy not getting hit by cars!

Ok, so I am riding my bike down the center of the street where the bike lane is. As I am heading to the crosswalk where I was happily going to keep going some dude comes into the crosswalk and asks if I have a bike pump with me I didn’t quite hear him so I said “what?” and kept going.
Down the street I kind of figured what he must have asked... and thought that well I don’t have it with me and even if I did I am a little busy trying to ride my bike down a busy street! For Heaven’s Sake!

I hate when I am writing and I get stuck on something really dumb like “What is her father’s name?” or something really lame or worse when I have no friggen clue what happens next... “Like bummer dude” as some would say. Anyway I am going to try to force myself to come up with SOMETHING yah.... or play with pictures on the Internet! weee!

I keep seeing people here on Livejournal posting about a book challenge. I am a little late in starting but I think I can do it. I do read a lot of books, though I have never counted them before. (The challenge is to read 50 in a year.)
The one problem is that I often start one then set it aside for a while then get back to it later (for example I have been reading The Lord of The Rings Trilogy on and off for a year now... I am almost done) I will list the books I finished from January to today... but I won’t count any I started before Christmas time.

Bill Bryson
Bryson takes a crack at telling the story of a man of which little is known. He discusses life in the age of Shakespeare and the people in his life. He also makes time for the “Shakespeare was not really Shakespeare” people. I picked this as a good read before getting into some Shakespeare plays”

Here is a poem I wrote off the top of my head. I don’t really write poems much, I think I said that once before... Anyway, the idea came a long time ago and it was actually meant to be longer but oh well... I might share more later. And no, the butterfly is not symbolizing anything, it is literally a butterfly that someone missed.
Butterfly Lament
Round and round, a butterfly flew round the moor,
up and down and even by my very door.
A stiff wind did rise and gray grew the sky
No shelter did it find, but near a stone it fell.
How I wished for the butterfly after it was no more.
